My origianl trip was to Escalante..that fell apart when a buddie couldnt go. I've always wanted to go back to Moab...love the place.. and lucky me...I visited with Bret Edge in his new Gallery and among the places he suggested was Broken Arch at sunrise. I already had his e-zine on Arches which is a great guide, by the way, so, I trudged off and came back with this image. Hope you like it and CC always welcome. If you go to Moab dont miss Bret's Gallery..super guy and a real talent.

Hey Joe - Thanks for stopping in to the gallery for a visit and for buying my Arches e-book. In all honesty, this is one of the better images I've seen of Broken Arch. Nice light, killer sky and a good composition. I've never had such a good sky at this location. Guess I need to re-visit it!
If you don't mind a little constructive critique, I'd consider cropping just enough off the top to eliminate the little sections of sky in the upper left hand corner and middle of the arch. Other than that, this is outstanding. Congrats!
I also agree with Bret. The beauty of this image occurs inside of the arch. Real nice catch, Joe!
And because the main focus is what's within the arch and not the arch iitself so much, I also agree with his crop advice.
For some reason, this looks a bit dull on my monitor, so I brought it into PS and it did not have a color profile tagged onto it.
Doing that and a quick AutoColor click really brought it to life, IMO.
I posted a repost below and hope you don't mind. I'll remove it immediately if you wish. Again, a fine shot that I wish I had taken.
Wow! Thanks John....just what it needed....you guys are right on about the crop. The image I posted is full frame as it was shot. I felt it needed cropping but was not sure,so all your advice is appreciated. I also think it could stand some light vignetting all around to help bring attention back to the center. Again, thanks, Bret for the heads up on the location.
