I need to download photos onto a DVD that can then be played on a TV. So far I have not figured out how to do it. Any thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. The reason for this is so I can send photos to my mother who is legally blind, but can see some images on her big screen TV.
Windows 7 has a slide show program you can create and burn to dvd a edited slide show. I am fuzzzy on this one but did one for a client months ago that was perfect.
It somewhat depends on the DVD player. Some will let you view JPG files natively just by burning them straight to a data disc. Others will play Windows media files, or Quicktime movies, (or avi or mpeg perhaps) which you could create as a slideshow of your pictures.
Other than that you'll need to create a slideshow and burn it as a DVD (which are mpeg-2 format) that any DVD player should be able to read. I believe this is what the Windows 7 software that Rick mentions will do. I think some googling would turn up others.
Personally, I've always just dumped JPGs straight to a data disc and the few DVD players I've used have been able to view them.
