Hey all,
Sorry for the lack of participation. Very busy, but looking forward to posting some pics soon.
Anyway, I'm looking for a place to photograph wildflowers/waterfall/mountains for about 4 days last week of June. I would prefer camping, but I can't do any back country since I will be alone and not very experienced in back country backpacking. Never been to the San Juans at this time of year, wondering if I might find some stuff around the area of Dallas Divide? but I'm open for any suggestions. Keep in mind I only have a Toyota corolla but certainly wouldn't negate the idea of renting a SUV. I also don't mind hiking in (shorter hikes) to get to the good stuff. Thanks!
Skyline Drive Virgina, Big Meadows camp Ground. Safe lotta wildflowers and wildlife.

Thanks John! I wasn't thinking . @Jack Thanks Jack for your input but I live in Colorado and that is where I was planning on shooting, but if I'm ever in Virginia I will check the place out.
At first read I thought you were referring to the San Juan Islands in Washington. Little late for wildflowers there in at end of June, but mid-elevation meadows and slopes in the Washington and Oregon Cascade Mountains should be very good. The distinctive volcanic peaks should still have good snow, and waterfalls should still be good, too.
Hmmm, I'd like to get to know Colorado better. Like Greg, I thought you were referring to the San Juans of Washington State, which are gorgeous Islands in the north part of Puget Sound. When/if you're into traveling to the great Pacific NW, the Cascade Mountains of WA and OR and the Olympic NP in WA would provide everything you're looking to photograph and more. USFS roads are usually good enough for a Corolla, but good advice on that can be obtained from any of the many USFS Ranger Stations or NP Visitors Centers.

Thanks to Greg and Catherine! I would love to visit your neck of the woods and see the beauty there in the spring. I will be going to Oregon in the fall to do a photo tour with Marc Adamus and then will be touring around and camping in different spots before and after. I think I will pick your brains closer to that time. Sounds like it will be peak foliage time there. I'm psyched! Blessings, Deb
