Today I received an invitation from Laura Cozzi, Assistant Director
of World Wide Art in Santa Barbara, CA to submit my work to be included in their publication of International Masters of Photograhy.

She goes on to say that, "We also organize a group exhibition for the photographers appearing in this book, at the Southern Nevada
Museum of Fine Art, which is located in Las Vegas, Nevada."

Submissions are judged. She states that inclusion is not free.

She adds that if I'm interested, she will send me more information at my request or I can visit: http://wwab.us/index.php/Photography-
Application/. She also gives me an 800 phone number.

Because of having my email list hacked into over the weekend, I'm
presently a little reluctant to respond to this or any emails. In
other words, I don't feel very safe about hitting the"reply" button,
nor do I know what might happen if I type in the above address.

Consequently, I'm writing to NPN now to see if anyone knows anything
regarding the integrity of the company and the aforementioned information.

Frankly, what it sounds like to me is that photographers' whose work is accepted are simply paying the publication costs. Furthermore,
although I have some decent images, I hardly think that my work
or reputation is worthy of appearing in a book entitled
"International Masters of Photography." Nothing like playing on
someone's ego.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

I think you answered your own questions. If it sounds too good to be true....

Yeah... it's something of a scam in that just about anyone is accepted if they pay and follow the rules. Similar to a lot of "Who's who in..." type books that you might have heard of. They're pretty much "vanity press".

I receive a lot of this junk. I never click on a link and then give this spam the one-finger-delete key- salute.

Amen, Preston!

Robert, your intuition sounds spot on. Thanks for posting about it, too, though, because it gives us good examples to use to recognize these deceitful messages.
