As a contributor to the 'Meet Your Neighbours' project, I've been keen to photograph the emergence of a damselfly in the Meet Your Neighbours style and had in mind a composite image showing the different stages of the process. I got my chance a few weeks ago when I spotted a damselfly larva just after it left the water and climbed a reed.
The following post on my blog provides some more info on these images and shows my 'field studio' set-up.
All images were taken against a piece of white Perspex with a flash behind it. I used a Canon 7D with a Canon 60mm macro lens and a diffused MT-24 EX flash. Each frame was something like f16, 1/160 and ISO 100 (and handheld).
It's more for interest really, but C+C still very welcome.
Superb work Matt. Good to see the set up too.
Lot of hassle though eh ? ! It would take me a week to get the stuff there !
No - I used to do it.
Great stuff.

Stunning work you really are top of the field in your projects. As I've said before your blog is so helpful and full of interesting info thank you for sharing.
Great composite images Matt, I would have liked to have seen more in the sequence but space is the thing I guess. Can't believe they are taken handheld.

Macro photography at it's best IMO. I have really enjoyed the MYN series on the blog and website, Matt
