I caught this lady from France, doing her morning Yoga thing on the edge of the cliff at Toroweep. (I think she's crazy ) I've played with this for a while and think I might have something presentable.
I'd appreciate any comments on the photo.
I like the light beams and the yogi you captured, but the overexposed sunlight in the upper right corner grabs my eye and just won't let go.
Consider cropping down to about a half inch above the mesa top, which puts the emphasis on the landscape and diminishes the impact of the sun.
Using the Unsharp Mask filter as 'Image Polish' (in the landscape only, not the skies) makes this pop quite a bit better and helps isolate the person better against the landscape.
Finally, you posted this with the ProPhoto color space. Using sRGB makes this look much more vibrant when using a browser.
Yeah, me too on the crop idea. Also, I expect you could probably pull some more detail and contrast out of the canyon portion without loosing the "flood of sunlight" effect. But it's a super cool photo, looks like heat and light are just pouring into the gorge.

Richard, I have photographed at Toroweep and it is a super challenging place. I like your photo. That lady in the image really makes it. (I love the idea that you found out she is from France. Is there more?) John's crop idea is good. Fix it and hang it proudly.
