One from this morning, sleeping Nomada Bee. I was out early looking for Crab Spiders ( why do I only find males? ) and whilst crawling through the undergrowth I found this sleepy little lady, this is a new species for me so it kind of made my day
1/13th @ f11 -2/3rds iso400 ( 90% of FF )
7D, Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro USM + 32mm of Ext Tubes and 3 Plamps to try and hold it steady ( was abit windy ).
Thanks for the feedback on my last post and thanks for looking.
lol Andy, I didn't post my female crab spider to wind you up, I promise.
These Nomada bees are one of my favourite subjects and this is very nice. I think I'd have preferred a slightly higher viewpoint so that we're not looking up at it quite so much and maybe the whites are a little hot. Otherwise the bee looks nice and sharp with soft lighting and a really nice background. I can imagine how much this must have been swinging in the breeze...

I agree about the whites on the flower, but the bee itself is excellent.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I can see what you mean re the whites ( on the pc they looked fine, but on my laptop they're kinda glowing which is a shame ). I was surprised to see how small this species is, this one was only about 15mm long hence the need for the tubes. Looking at Matt's superb Crab Spider, I think I'm going to have to buy a MPE-65, I can feel my wallet twitching already

Just the small nit about the white but that should be easily toned down a bit.
Good Stuff !

Cracking image Andy very detailed and love the pose. I suppose it was taking some (B)zzzzzzzzz'eds!
Really superb image well worth the effort. I'm still striving to obtain a recognisable image making slow progress. Your postings certainly help thanks for sharing.

Whites as mentioned - but what a staggeringly good image - briliant
