Tawny Owl
D7000 500mm f4 ISO 400 1/25s at f7.1 beanbag resting on car window.

Taken on Mull. Most mornings I was up and out at 4.30am and this lovely owl was found close to a road at 5.00am sat on its bush at the edge of a small conifer plantation looking for its breakfast/supper. It was completely unconcerned by the car or my lens aimed at it as you can see by its pose! All C+C warmly welcomed.

Great lighting on the bird. I hope you have it in portrait format as well.

Astounding, even without eye contact it is wonderful to have such a shot in daylight.

Hi Nick, well done for getting what you got and proves getting up early pays.

My only comment would have been to up the ISO. At 1/25 you are certainly pushing it, but with Nikon upping the ISO for greater SS is not a problem. If you have applied any NR just be careful about the amount, balance & feel of the end result.
