Congratulations to one of my photographer partners, Paul James. His image was chosen as the People's Choice winner in Outdoor Photographer magazine's 3rd annual Great Outdoors Photo Contest. I was standing near him when he took this shot but I was too chicken to go out on the ledge...it was a 3,000' drop to the canyon floor below. Check out the people's choice winner on the attached link. Congrats Paul...3rd place out of over 9600 entries!!
Our own James Egbert got an honorable mention as well!
Congrats to Paul James. Nice shot! Love the lighting!
I am a bit with you on avoiding that 3000' ft drop. I try to keep my distance in places like Moab - on foot or in a 4x4. And usually a few days later I have momentary "whoa" moments thinking about how close one can get to oblivian :)
And yep I kinda agree Todd - the composite is creative, but definitely a manufactured composite of many images. I can be ok with essential lab work... but geez, that seems like a full film roll dropped into one print.

Jack, when OP posted the top 30 or so online, I thought that your friend Paul's image was a top 2 contender. Congrats to him!
