The 74th edition of Nature Photographers Online Magazine is now online!
We kick off this month's issue with a gorgeous seascape cover photo by NPN member Marc Adamus. Marc's photo of the Oregon coast once again sets the stage for the unmatched quality of photos found on the NPN website!
Inside, Guy Tal offers his thoughts on art and photography in the latest installment of his Essential Landscape column Artists – Stand Up for Your Art!. Guy's thought-provoking article is sure to generate some discussion!
Brad and Trish are back this month with another report from Denali on their winter dogsledding activities, To Wonder Lake and Back: A Dogsledding Adventure describing the beauty and hardships of survival in the Alaskan wilderness.
Our environmental article this month by NPN member Marko Trebusak focuses on Slovenia and some of the challenges to conservation in that part of the world - Environmental Conservation - Saving Slovenia. Marko provides some historical perspective to conservation efforts in Slovenia, illustrated with superb photos.
Long time NPN member Carl Donohue serves up another article with a focus on art and photography - Bald Eagle Photos and the Artful Portrait. Carl offers some food for thought on how to take your wildlife photography to the next level, beyond just the technically/aesthetically perfect "eye candy" photo that has become so commonplace today.
NPN avian gallery moderator Bob Steele offers some very useful instruction on preparing your photos for display - Leveling and Sharpening a Reflection Image. We have all fallen victim to overlooking this essential aspect of our photos - being certain that they are level and sharp. Bob offers some great tips on how to do so!
So pull up a chair, kick off your shoes and clear those browser memories - we hope you enjoy this latest edition. And while you're at it, be sure to check out the May edition of TPN too!
When I go to www.naturephotographers.net I still get everything from April. I click on "cover photo" above, get a new image,
but when I click on it I get everything from April again.
Paul, depending on what browser you are using, you may be able to set it to delete all temporary Internet files upon closing. That's how I have IE set up so nothing stays in cache memory.
Thanks... I'll check it out.
I use Netscape so I can use e-mail, and at other times I use Safari for just web things.
I'm not much up on browser & internet stuff unless I have to use it for something.
Everything else goes to C.R.S. ( you know that condition )
PS - your pretty hip on these things.
I have my cashe set at 1000.
How much cashe does it take to store a normal web page?
Should I lower it?
Jim, and et all
I am a dummy, I cannot figure out how to upload my pictures, there I said it...please help..but what I intended to say is another stunning month, starting with Marks opener, what an image, and the articles...this site makes my day and gets better everyday. Jim you say it's a labor of love...thanks ...seeing the immages on this site makes my day, usually a couple of times..so to everybody thanks for NPN...but please tell me how to upload a picture, just so I don't have to drive to Revelsoke BC, and go to the best camera store west of the pecos (Toronto)
Thanks
Dave
Dave, thanks for your compliments! FWIW, I agree that the quality of work displayed on this site is without equal. Plus, everyone is willing to share and help in a congenial manner - no battle of the "mega-egos" here.
To post a photo, non-members must first have their photo on an external server, such as a personal website. On the Post a Photo screen, simply enter the URL of the photo in the appropriate field and it will appear in our forums.
Paid members are entitled to upload photos directly to the NPN server. In this case, one would use the "browse/upload" function on the Post a Photo screen to do so. If you are a paid member but the browse/upload function is still grayed out, you must update your preferences with your NPN membership number. The Preferences link is in the green bar near the top of the page and the field to enter your membership number (and activate image hosting) is on that screen.
Additonal information on posting photos can be found in the Posting Guidelines, a link to which is found at the top of any of the image critique forums, via the Forum Index menu (upper left corner) or on the Forums and Galleries index page.
Information on paid membership can be found on the NPN Membership page.
And if all else fails, shoot us an email at editor@naturephotographers.net and we'll be happy to help!

Where did you hide May?
The link in there has nothing to do with cashe.
PS
OK, maybe it does. I just refreshed both and now I get May.
Learned another thing today.

Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Cache - select the "Every time I view a page" option. That should do the trick!
