Closer
A closer view of my last Crab Spider.

Canon 7D with MP-E 65mm macro lens and diffused MT-24EX flash, f10, 1/160, ISO 100, hand held, full frame.

I may ultimately remove the red-eye, but I find it quite interesting somehow!

There are more images of this spider on my blog.

All C+C welcome. Please view larger version if possible.

First thing that springs to mind is mother-in-law. Hell of a face, great detail there.

Another superb macro shot, Matt. The soft colours work a treat and it's a great looking beastie :toast:

Hi Matt
Just back on. Usual standard macro- excellent. They do make good subjects as they tend to sit still
Cheers

many thanks for the comments.

Graham, I used my MP-E 65mm lens which goes from 1x to 5x magnification, so I didn't use extension tubes. This was probably taken at around 4x magnification so would require a lot of extension tubes on a standard macro lens.

Bloody stupid lens!!!!!!!!!      :wavey:

For a fleeting hour or two yesterday I had the crazy notion of purloining one of these and a smelly Canon body from Mr. Treadwell - two minutes playing with it at TFC Brum soon knocked that daft idea out of my head - what a bloody abominable monstrosity    :wavey:

To produce shots like this with it Matt I am now totally convinced that you are not of this earth

Admit it, you come from Krypton don't you

Cracker of an image and a smart looking collection on your blog :toast: :toast:

Thanks for the further comments.

Andy, you just have to show it who's boss. Seriously, it does take a while to master, and it really does have to be used with flash, but it's good fun once you've got used to it.
