Wheatear, Morton Moor West Yorks. 30th April 06

Hi everyone - found a nice spot for wheatears last sunday, but the light was in rather short supply.

tech details
Canon 20d 400mm F5.6L x2, 1/160th F13. ISO800 half the frame.
Neatimage noise reduction on the background (very distant fields)
Demucked the stone.

thanks for comments

Hi John,

I've not had any luck with these this year, a very nice image on a nice perch with a good bg, I might be tempted to give it a lift in levels, only a small amount mind....

Hi John

I like this image and I think that it benefits from the poor light - really brings out the detail and colours. Graduated background is very attractive. Sure, there is a wee bit of noise but it doesn't detract imho.

Cheers

Hi John

An excellent composition, plenty of detail considering you had the 2x converter on. Background still looks a bit noisy to me, maybe a bit more aggressive Neatimage filtering will soften it, or possibly it is due to JPEG compression.

cheers

On my laptop screen, still from the Netherlands, this looks a very attractive shot, sharp, nice feather detail, good colours and a great perch and bg. Very good, considering the technical details
