Where's My Pot of Gold? (+corrected repost)
Another image from the Columbia Hills area, I was just thinking that with the light rain coming down and the sun where it was there might be a rainbow today, right then I looked back to see this. I hiked under the powerline obstructing my view and just handheld a few shots, then went back to what I was photographing before.

I didn't think much of the shot at first, I'd just never photographed a rainbow before, which in it's self is kind of weird I think. Then my wife saw it and is making me print and hang it in our bathroom, she loved it so much it made me give it a second look. It has been growing on me ever since.

looks great, but your horizon is way tilted.

Boy Rick, you were right, it was quite crooked, here is a corrected version.
That's what I get for shooting handheld

I just noticed it because I did the exact same thing.
I've never shot a rainbow yet either...at least a full one. You are quite lucky dude...

Well, I've shot lots of rainbows here in Oregon, both single and double. I'd have to say that you captured a pretty nice one here, Zack. It's especially nice with those lupines and balsamroot flowers in the foreground! I can see why your wife liked it (I often find that people who are not serious photographers like images that we might initially dismiss).

Zack,
I think you are going to have to print this one up. I really think it's spectacular. BTW, am I missing something about the tilt? The second one is tilted more than the first. O.K, I just looked at the hills on the far right horizon and they are straight now. I GET IT. :jump:

Hey, Erik, I was just as clueless as you with respect to the tilt. Until you mentioned the hills in the bg I didn't see it either...

I love rainbow shots and this one is fantastic...much more balanced after the rotation too. :)
