Crab Spider

One from the other day, female Crab Spider ( Xysticus cristatus ) with prey. Any thoughts on the species of prey would be appreciated, I was thinking Sawfly but not too sure?

1/40th @ f8 -1/3rd iso400 ( 95% of FF and Plamped to keep it steady )

Please view the large version.

Thanks for the feedback on my last post and thanks for looking.

Great picture, Andy, although I am afraid I am no help on the identity of the prey. I do wonder if a little use of shadows/highlights would bring out a little more detail in the body of the prey though.

A great behavioural image Andy. For me, it's a bit 'busy' as a stand alone picture.

A bit busy perhaps but great illustration of behaviour.

Andy

Certainly not short on action, works for me. The colour of the flower and the dark subjects compliment each other.

as I've said before Andy, this is a very nice behavioural image. It looks a little dark to me though, particularly the blacks.
