White-tailed Bumblebee
Thanks for the comments on my last post.

More macro as my 200-400 is in for repair. Should be back this week, just in time for me to take it to Skomer. Anyone else heading there at the start of July? This one is a White-tailed Bumblebee (I think, but am confused by the yellow on the face as opposed to black) on flowering thyme.

Techs:
Nikon D300s
Tamron 90mm f2.8 Macro
Handheld
F10
1/640s
ISO 640

Can't help with the ID, Oscar, but a nice, sharp shot. It looks a little over-exposed on my monitor, but not by very much.

Oscar

Bombus Pratorum my guess I looked it up description matches but I'm no expert.

Nice image. I've been chasing the same subjects but the prevailing winds have been too great.

Nice pastel palette Oscar, nice FG and BG - works for me all day long.

How have you managed to break a Nikon 200-400

Lovely shot, well composed and nice amount of mush!

You may be right with White-tailed as the males do have yellow on the face according to this:

an attractive composition Oscar, I do like this. Maybe a touch bright?

A touch bright yes, but still a lovely looking image. Agree with Phil re the righthand stem.
