Juvenile Grey Squirrel
I've not done much photography lately, with the weather being so utterly terrible, but I took advantage of the fairly good weather we had today and did some squirrel photography. Yes, its a grey, but that's all we have here in south Wales. This is one of the first pictures taken in a new setup I've been working on for many months. Its been very frustrating and difficult to achieve, my last setup was destroyed by illegal wood cutting after a fair investment in time and effort. Hopefully this one will be more permanent!

Techs: Canon 7D, EF 300mm f/4L IS USM, f/4, ISO 400, 1/800 sec. Aperture priority mode due to the changing lighting. Hide, tripod and gimbal mount. Fullframe. Imported with ACR, processed in PS CS5.

Thanks for looking.

C's and c's very welcome as always.

Looks similar to the set up that Peter Cairn uses up near Aviemore, hope it works out OK. Great comp and nicely sharp at f4.

Attractive set up and good use of the light. I particularly like the sliver of green at bottom left which serves to connect the lower part of the frame with the upper part. Background foliage is a good distance away creating an attractive out-of focus element. Given the size of the log, it looks as though you've been joining forces with the tree fellers

I hope you shot it after you photographed it Paul

As already mentioned, great lighting and I think the comp works very well :wavey: :wavey:

A much maligned animal but still very photogenic. No nits from me, Paul.

Thanks for the positive comments everyone. :wavey: I'm hoping that this setup will produce more than just squirrel images
