A Welsh Red.....
Red Kite of course

1Ds2, 500/4, Tripod/Gimbal
ISO400, 1/800 @ f6.3, manual exposure & metering...
Fill flash 550EX + Better Beamer @ -1 2/3
Raw, Lightroom 4...
Slight crop

Just back from a few days in Wales, with a quick visit to the place I spent a lot of my childhood on the way back, the Wyre Forest (Cheers John)

No trip to Wales is complete without an image of one of my favourites and an Icon of the area, both Fran and I loved being able to look to the skies outside of our B & B and see the Kites souring overhead, no matter what time of day it was....

Managed a couple of target species, but with nearly 2500 image to get through, it could be a time before any are posted

All the best

Lovely, nice to see one with a different background, pose is spot on. Perhaps a little dark on my screen, but lots of nice detail.

Nice one, Phil. I agree with John about the extra space on the right, but no big deal.

Hi Phil, like the shot, but wonder if any NR has been applied to the BKG, if so I might just ease off a little, WDYT?

Steve...

No noise reduction on the background.... the 1Ds2 if you get the exposure right rarely needs it at ISO400, the larger sensor helps to reduce Depth of Field.... All that has been done to the background is a very small amount of negative clarity to reduce a few brighter patches....
