First off, thoughts and prayers with everyone dealing with the fires.
Have been busy with new projects and learning to use the Canon 17mm TS-E. I love it. With my bad eyes I purchased the smallHD DP-6 to help with focusing and am I ever glad I did. What a breeze! Shot with the 5D II while standing about middway on the emergency exit staircase in the 'great room' underneath portal #3.
Anyway, this image represents several images put together in Photoshop and just some sharpening. Still a work in progress but wanted to share and say 'hey'.

Man, that is an awesome shot...and an awesome place. You are blessed to have an opportunity to shoot these rare pictures. I love the detail and the depth of the shot!
Having access to that place is one of the few spots I would get up and go right now...as I eat dinner and know work is expecting me in in 10 hrs. Keep sharing images please.
I'm betting not many people know what kind of mining operation is under way in Marble. LOOK at all that Marble!

That is superb. You truly feel the height. TS/E's are infectious, one day I'll own one. Man, you used that tool so well to create such a captivating view of a place most of us will never see. Great light beam BTW!
Thanks Jack. Believe me, I count my blessings each and every time I step into that beautiful and historic quarry. Love it. Thanks to smallHD for the focus and depth.:)
Kane, it would be worth the lack of sleep. The Italians are now in charge of the quarry again after an absence of almost 100 years. Things are going very well.
Thanks Paul. I am really enjoying the 17mm TS-E and am now able to capture images I have seen in my mind since I began shooting the quarry in 2003. It's over 300' from the ceiling to the floor of the quarry in the 'great room'.
This is a very strong image! The beam of light and the similar shaped pipes contrast well with the sharp angles throughout.
You did a terrific job in composing/exposing/'developing' this interesting scene. I'll probably never see anything like this in life, so thanks a million for sharing this (and future images) here, Ron.

I'm sure the light beam made for a challenging exposure and processing.
Have you considered expanding the image to the left with another row of images ?
Thanks Bill. That very shot is on my list for the next trip, which is very soon.
I'll post another view in a new thread so I can also upload a larger image.
