Common Snipe
After many years of trying, I have finally managed to capture my dream shot, this bird has been at the very top of my "Must Photograph" list for over 7 years, and yesterday morning I found this Common Snipe, just as I had pictured it in my minds eye. For some people it's Polar Bears, Kingfishers, Foxes etc, etc, but for me it's always been a Common Snipe sat on an old weathered post.

Thanks for the feedback on my last post and thanks for looking

There are a few more shots on the blog for those interested

It is down hill from here on in Andy, send me your gear, I will see it is well used :wavey:

Not sure about the barbed wire, IMO it works with raptors but not girl birds :p But yeh, well done, pretty perfect by any standards.

Barbed wire in this shot works well for me, I like the way the rusty colour matches the plumage in the bird. Congratulations on getting your dream shot.

Hi Andy, never over look what you have on your doorstep, and this is a cracking image and well done for achieving a 7 year wish. The 'rustic' post and barbed wire all add interest to the image, but would like the wire not to have tailed off. The striking BKG really sets the bird off, but there seems to be a slight light patch from the right of the post to the Y in Andy, any ideas?

Now onto the next species on the list, good luck.

Thanks for the feedback guys :toast:

Hi Steve, I only noticed the light patch after processing, but on checking the RAW it's on that too, I think it's the top of a very OOF fence post.
