I just got a 5D mark 3 as an upgrade to my 5D (what a difference!) and find all of the auto focus choices daunting. I'd like to hear from those of you who have had your cameras for a while how you choose an AF setting and if you do a lot of switching. Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
I upgraded as well to the MIII - what a difference. Here's some resources I found from Canon, which you may already have. I found them helpful, especially the first link to a large PDF file.

http://learn.usa.canon.com/resources/articles/2012/1dx_guidebook.shtml - links to a great 48 page PDF file about AF

http://learn.usa.canon.com/galleries/galleries/tutorials/eos_1dx_tutorials.shtml

I look forward to hearing other responses of "in the field" tips.

Thanks, Wick Smith

I had this body with me on my most recent trip, but it was a backup to my Mark IV, so I didn't have an opportunity to use it with fast-moving subjects. Interesting to see that Canon suggests modes 4 and 5 for wildlife, as I only had it in 1 or 2. Definitely need to get out and test this thing a bit, but like Wick, I'd welcome some suggestions from more seasoned users.
