Burnet moth on foxglve
D7000 105mm f2.8 Macro + TC14e ISO 250 1/80s at f14 tripod and cable release.

Transparent Burnet moth sat on a foxglove tip. Taken today in blustery conditions during a lull when it wasn't waving about! One of the most attractive of the Burnet moths. All C+C warmly welcomed.

Gorgeous. After another go at macro today I do not see how it is possible ;)

Very nicely done, A burnet I have not seen either... great sharpness and detail, personally I am not too keen on the crop and would perhaps prefer a little more room above, but for presentation here it is fine...

it's nice to see this transparent version Nick - lovely light and detail here. The squarish comp wouldn't be my first choice but perfect in all other regards.

A beautiful composition, like it loads, as it is! :toast:

Many thanks for you comments folks much appreciated. The shot was taken vertically but I do have a little more room to the sides and more over the top. Its my favourite shot of this beautiful moth to date. It is endemic to Scotland and is only found on the west coast and on several islands but appears quite common where it is found.
