Ghost Mountains Sunrise
Another Big Bend image. When a clear sky morning took away the image I was hoping for I decided to let the clear skies work for me and do a long lens shot of the Chisos Mountains.

Love the warm tones of this and the use of receeding mountains as a compositional element is always nice. I'm on the fence about the fg shrubs ... their relatively horizontal alignment and equal size/height in light silhouette against the mountains seem to keep pulling my eyes down. Just my humble opinion, thanks for sharing.

Hey Darren the mountains and the warm tones Wayne mentioned are great. I think it would be a stronger image without the shrubs, but still really nice.

Nicely done, as always, Darren. I kinda like the wiry shapes of the shrub branches, and think they impart a sense of place for the rest of the landscape.

Thanks all. I did all of my shots with the spindly Ocotillo as a foreground that morning. One of the few foreground options in the desert.

This feels hot!! I like the receeding layers in this and the way that the contrast with the foreground Ocotillo.
