Folks,

Don't laugh, I actually live in Ohio. I get out to Oregon etc doing my own shooting as well as some workshops throughout the year. You folks are truly blessed( my wife is from Seattle & we really want to relocate in the Portland area in a few years!).
Anyhow my question is since I've never been to the Dalles Mt Road this late in the year is it worth the time? Any help is great;y appreciated!

Thanks folks--you have a great group!

Regards,
Jack

It'll be totally different then from what it is now. The hills will be all brown and there won't be a flower in sight.
Having said that though, the hills will still be a wonderful place to shoot. The shadows in the morning and evening are great. Looking back west, the clouds could be awesome, and then there are all the oaks in the valleys. The place is certainly worth a visit any time of year.

Who'd have thought that Mark's beloved hills would have became so famous and popular? Must be all the great images he takes there...

No offense to Hudon (oops, Dalles) Mountain Road, but it just depends on what you want to shoot. I'd recommend around Mt Hood, like Trillium Lake or something.

Thanks guys...I used to live in No Cal and the hills didn't brown up where i was until late June.
Mt Hood sounds like the best bet...and if you folks ever get to Ohio........................

only kidding........... stay in the PacNW. Its the best and so are the people!
