Red Kite on white
1Ds2 +500/4 + 1.4, tripod, Gimbal.
ISO400, 1/1600 @ f5.6 (Yup wide open, probably a first for me)
Manual exposure and metering.
Almost full frame (A miracle for me with a flight shot)

Hi,

Another image from our trip to mid Wales, we weren't blessed with the greatest of weather, grey and wet is the best way to describe it, but attempted some 'high key' images using the feature less sky as the backdrop...

Not sure that this works... the best bit being the clear head....

All the best

Phil

the bird's pose is perhaps not the best but the exposure, colour and detail on the bird are spot on Phil.

Hi Phil, for me it has an almost surreal look & feel. I like the HA, angle of the bird and the outstretch wing, almost a pointing action. Nice to see a different approach on a well photographed bird. :toast:

Just enough detail in the sky to work, pose is good too like a dragon coming in to land.

Phil

What's wrong with a different view? Well caught and presented.

Really like that Phil. As you say, the head is clear. The pose is different to many and there is enough suggestion of sky to place the bird. :toast:

Very nice Phil - just enough detail in the sky for the image to work well.
