This announcement pales in comparison to the gallery openings that have been announced here recently, but I am proud to announce my first public display of photographs up here in Steamboat this month at the Steaming Bean. I'm also on the First Friday Artwalk on July 6th.
I want to thank everyone in this forum for all the advice and answers given over the years. I want to especially thank Rod Hanna for his recent instruction on framing which really helped me for this display.
Since I've decided not to ruin a perfectly good hobby by trying to make money at it (ha ha), I'm donating a majority of the proceeds from any print/frame sales to Ride 4 Yellow. This event helps raise money to fight Cancer both Globally through LIVESTRONG and locally in the Steamboat area. In only a few short years the 4 Yellow Foundation has raised more than a million dollars for this cause. I'm not expecting to liquidate all my prints during this show, but I've also got a pool of donors lined up who are matching contributions made by people who stop by to see the photographs - making it easy for people to be a part of the cause. My overall fundraising goal this year is $10,000, and I'm about 15% of the way there. More information is available at http://www.scottbideauphotography.com/steamingbean/ and please enjoy a few of the photographs I've posted here of the display.
If you find yourself in Steamboat, please stop by the Steaming Bean at 635 South Lincoln. Swing in from 5-8pm on Friday July 6th for some free wine during the Artwalk. If you find yourself inclined to support my Ride 4 Yellow fundraising efforts, visit the bottom of http://www.scottbideauphotography.com/steamingbean/. If you are interested in helping as a volunteer photographer for the events we have here in Steamboat (Ride 4 Yellow in the summer, Ski 4 Yellow in March/Winter), do let me know - it's a great time for an even greater cause!

Rainbow Ridge near Steamboat printed at 20″ x 60″ on Metallic Fine Art Paper and then Face Mounted on Acrylic and Custom Framed.
The Maroon Bells last fall printed at 24″ x 36″ on Luster Paper and Custom Framed behind acrylic. Special thanks to Jody for pinging me the day before and letting me know that a "perfect" snowstorm was arriving at Maroon Lake - strong enough to dump some flakes but weak enough to leave the leaves on their trees.

A rocky beach and pair of sea stacks reflect the sunset in Big Sur’s Garrapata Park during my visit a few months ago. Printed at 24″ x 36″ on Luster Paper and custom framed behind acrylic. I'm posting a special thanks to the California Nature Photographers forum and specifically David Gubernick for the awesome advice I received.
The reflection of Longs Peak into Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park is framed by the changing colors of an Aspen tree. Printed at 20" x 30" on Luster Paper and custom framed behind acrylic.

This display is raising money to fight cancer.
My goal this year is $10,000.
60% of the net proceeds from any purchase will be donated to Ride 4 Yellow, an event that raises money for the fight against cancer both locally in Steamboat Springs and globally through LIVESTRONG.
Direct donations are also supported and may be matched up to 200%!
Gorgeous display of your stunning work Scott! I'll bet it looks amazing in person. Best of luck to you. Very generous of you to donate a portion of your slaes to such a worthy cause
Congrats on the display, Scott! Your images are stunning and are certainly worthy of a gallery wall. I wish you the best of luck with your fundraising campaign, too.
That is one upscale lookin' Bean there. A perfect place to display some fine upscale photography!
If I was anywhere near the area, I would jump on visiting this event (..and the free wine, of course ).
A million thanks for your selfless fundraising, Scott!
That looks great! I wish I could stop by and see it in person. What a great idea for the fundraising. That is a great organization who give back in such an important way. All the best of luck!
Scott- I'm up in the boat this weekend. I'll try and stop by tomorrow night. Always looking for a cool coffee shop. Maybe I can expand my horizons beyond Off the Beaten Path.
