Jeremy really brought forth an ethereal presence to a familiar view of a sunrise from Tom McCall Preserve. Of course his image is technically correct but if that was all you felt then the real magic he presents has been wasted on you. His image creation allows us to actually be sitting next to him during the short interval of the splendid early light. This is the light that causes immense joy, prickly tingles down your spine and often an almost impossible to contain sense of ecstasy at being there!
I absolutely am in awe of the Snowy Owl that Sandy captured! I don't photograph wildlife but highly respect the patience of those that do. The piercing stare of the golden yellow eyes is delightful.
Scott has a lovely abstract of a oft photographed falls that gives a unique perspective I have not previously seen. I can just imagine a Dr. Seuss zebra with stripes of moss green and white as in his image.
Phil, you summarized the winning images very well. Congratulation to Jeremy, Sandy and Scott! Congratulations also to everyone that posted images - a wonderful group of photos.
