I recently returned from a short trip to the Eastern Sierras, where, besides the more usual stops, I visited Manzanar. I wanted to capture the sadness and grittiness, but also the hope & grace of the people incarcerated there. I have 2 versions. Please tell me what you think

A very artistic rendering. I prefer #2.

I prefer the tones in #2 more. Also in the larger #1, a faint circle appears in the sky's center.

I love number 2 with the artistic touch!

Another fan of #2, but the blues in the mountains simply don't resonate sadness/grittiness as well as the tonal qualities of the rest of the image. In fact, they seem to distract from the monument itself, which is probably not your goal here.
