Can't even count how many times over 20 years I have been through the canyon, and didn't "see" the beauty you captured. For someone unfamiliar with the canyon would think these images were taken in some remote area. Creative composition is just one great quality of these images.
After the last group of images you posted here, I thought these might be outtakes. But, nooooo....
Some mighty, mighty fine light you got here, Morris. My favorites are #'s 1 & 5. #1 for the sweeping view of the canyon and the sweet light (although the bridge appears to be tilted) and #5 for the way the shadow line of the half moon aligns so well with that leaning tree. I really like that.
A fine series from a place where it appears that most simply drive by.
Hands down, #5 is my favorite. LOVE the composition with the moon next to the leaning tree. Almost looks like the 2 trees are playing volleyball with the moon, and the leaner just hit it back! Really great images that make me think I should spend more time in Glenwood rather than zooming by.

I've long dreamed of getting some great shots from Glenwood Canyon. Now, after seeing your awesome images? Why bother?!
Quite a nice series Morris. I've always thought the canyon would have the potential for great shots like this but find myself instead speeding by on the road and not stopping. Gonna have to think twice about that now.
I love the first image: fantastic clouds, light on the canyon wall, framing with the river in foreground and inclusion of the bridge. I see quite a bit of color noise in the water on the second shot which takes away my enjoyment of that image a bit - could be an easy fix in PS. The position of moon and tree on the last image is very appealing to me.
Sweet shots Morris! #4 I think is the most special, but the first one also shows the character of the canyon really well. I love driving through there, but have never taken the time to stop and attempt to photograph it. When I'm driving through I always dream of hiking up one of the side canyons.

13 repliesThe first one is just a little later in the morning, and just a little farther around the river from the first shot in my last post.
Tony K's wizardry.
Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,
Morris

John, thanks. The bridge does slope up to the right to go into a tunnel.
Oh, Todd, there are plenty more to be had!
