This is a place that I love to photograph whenever there is any water in the pond. Yesterday was one of those days. I got this just after a storm left the area. I want to go back and capture this with a different lens to pull in the mountain background a little more...we'll see if time permits in the next couple days. There have been thunderstorms everyday I've been here so far and more scheduled for later today. I plan to go to Stony Pass later and try to catch some wildflowers with ominous clouds in the background...it's funny how we photographers want dramatic skies!
This is a single capture edited in LR and PS with some Tony Kuyper masks and lab color added for some color pop...not an HDR process.
Simply beautiful, Jack. Nothin' HDR-ish about this at all!
Perfectly composed, exposed and 'developed'. No nits whatsoever.
Hard for me to imagine you capturing this any better with a tighter zoom, but you would know.
It would be a sin not to print this one large. A classic Colorado landscape.
Hi Jack, I like this one alot. But Im betting i would live it at dusk. Processing looks really nice too. Here's the nitpick of the century...I'm not crazy about that garishly green border.
A beautiful scene to be sure. And, you captured it very well. The mountains look a little grey on my monitor, but that could just be it showing it's age.

But yeah, I tend to agree with your own critique. A bit more balance on a different lens may really take it over.
Really missing my usual 10 July days in Colorado this year - you're killing me! Keep those shots coming!

But, one question...where is 'here'?
