Pine Marten Head shot + original
Normally I am a bit of a purest but sometime I like to play.

Please let me know what you think, especially if i should do some work on the eye or if I have already over done it

Thanks for comments so far

Ian

I think you were teasing us with your last posts Angus

What a super portrait. OK, the reflection is quite prominent, and could be removed, but personally, I'd leave as is. It helps to tell the story of how the image was obtained. As you've not loaded a large version, perhaps another round of sharpening might benefit the image, but a cracker nonetheless :toast: :toast:

Best of the lot Ian and one of the nicest pine marten images I have seen. You could reduce the impact of the eye reflection and see if you like it, thats the beauty of digital.

If you darken the eye it would give a more intimidating image, matching the black BG. Super shot though!

I think this is the best of the images you have loaded to date, and would leave the eye exactly as it is.

Best of the series Ian, very effective portrait, just not sure about the amount of saturation in the coat?

Confession time, this is the original image, cheeting?

This was done changed in lightroom and is really just selective darkening but I am thinking of taking a black board with me next time I go for the Pine Martens, is that a bit sad?

Steve - I had a go at reducing saturation and it does look better, first time I have ever liked an image more with reduced saturation, I tend to go the other way
