Female RN Phal+chase
Another shot from Norway, this time from a small loch with around 70 Phalaropes. Whenever an unattached male appeared it turned into a benny hill chase as large numbers of females started chasing the poor chap

Conditions were hard as a bright white sky and high wind gave plenty of blown out images, also these birds never stop moving so achieving focus for a low angle shot in the water weed meant alot of wasted frames.

Hello Ian,

Good looking portrait, it must have been an amazing sight to see 70 of these gorgeous little waders.

Agreed, a great shot and sight. I would be tempted to add some local sharpening on the bird though.

Beautiful soft muted colours and would love to have seen the females chasing the male! Agree with slight nit on sharpening as it does look a little soft on my laptop.

Some chase shots for Nick. This is just after the male spashed down and the famale put on the airbreaks

Very nice Ian. Lovely colours in the plumage. I'd also be tempted to try a little more local sharpening on the bird. Otherwise cracking! :toast: :toast: :toast:
