D800 High ISO examples
During a slow shooting time this weekend, I took a series of shots with increasing ISO's to test the Noise capabilities of the D800.
Results below, for those interested. pretty impressive, IMO

No processing done other than re-sizing

This first one is ISO 6400

hard to tell much at this resolution and size, but right off hand the 6400 looks darn good.

These are all about a 50 percent crop

Sandy - A 50% crop of a D800 image is 18 megapixels. Down-sizing that to 720 pixels on the long side will largely erase any noise. Could you perhaps post 100% views?
Posted by SandyRichardsBrown on July 25, 2012 at 10:49 AM
ok, a full size at 6400 ISO.

I don't think David meant a 100% view of the full image. He means a view at Actual Pixel level detail and then a crop of that to show the details.

Thanks Sandy - Looks great. Any chance you could post the shadowy area under the duck?

Sorry, I have already spent WAY too much time on this today.

No problem Sandy... I'm being greedy. The noise looks very good. Thanks for posting!

Thanks so much for posting these. I am an OLY shooter and trying both the D800e and the 5D MkIII right now to decide which way to go... and real world testing makes my decision easier.
