Bird photography is not my speciality. But, I spent more time this morning watching hummingbirds than I've spent in my whole, middle-aged life. We noticed that there were some hummingbirds flitting around a few days ago, so I put up the hummingbird feeder. I sat in my "blind" this morning, patiently waiting for them to appear. Actually, my "blind" was sitting under the umbrella on the deck, reading the paper, sipping my tea and then using my remote whenever one of the hummingbirds would approach the feeder.
I enjoyed the first photo that I'm including because of the motion of the wings and the clarity of the eyes (Pentax 645D, 300mm lens, f/16, 1/60", ISO400). And, the second photo I'm simply calling "sharing" (Pentax K20D, 300mm lens w/ 1.4X, f/4.5, 1/125", ISO400).

Tim,
Two things I really like about your posts: 1) the detailed description of your "blind". Pity that the camera wasn't motion activated so as not to disturb your reading, and 2) the capture of the ant 'sharing' with the hummer.
I don't know if you are looking for feedback on your hummingbird images. If so , you should post them in the Avian Critique Gallery, not the Bird Photography Forum.
