Pyramid Peak Sunrise
This was my favorite shot from a three week road trip up to Glacier National Park. We headed through the Tetons and Yellowstone along the way, then spent two weeks hiking and backpacking in Glacier.

I wish the image dimension posting limit was 800px, then I'd post a lot more shots here. But, since I'm too lazy to resize them all down to 700px, I'll just post the link to my blog, where you can see all my photos and write up from our adventures:

Thanks for looking and for any comments you may have! :toast:

You like this? This ugly thing? Man, can't wait to dive in to the whole trip report!

(I thought 800px was the allowed dimension...)

You nailed this (as always)! Sounds like a fabulous and productive trip. Your overnight to Cracker Lake really intrigues me and will be put on my list if I can ever get out there.

Todd - Yeah I know, I'm tired of pretty photos. I think the rules say that 720px is the max dimension for posts.

Jeff - Glad you enjoyed the blog posts!

Guy - Cracker Lake is truly spectacular, and not too hard to get to. I wish I had some better light/worse weather while I was there, but the resident goat was fun to photograph.

You squeezed a lot of depth into this image with the FG underwater rocks. Very cool, and I need a LOT more tme to digest the awesomeness on your blog. :toast:

I've been waiting for your Glacier trip report since you posted on your blog you were going there. Super report and Really Pretty pictures! I never get tired of looking! Looks like you two put some miles on the hiking boots. Your report got me really excited about my upcoming trip to Glacier in Sept. My 5th visit to this great park.

I was considering the Piegan Pass trail. Is it necessary to reach the pass to get some good distant views of mountains?
I'm always looking for some beargrass to photograph, looks like the Iceberg Lake trail might be good. Wonder if it will still be good in Sept.

A beautiful scene to be sure, but it's the little things that count. And for me, they are the clouds almost framing that gorgeous peak and the sprigs of grass in the water. I just love those small touches!
I can hardly imagine standing stock still in the freezing cold waters as you did, but it was certainly well worth the effort.

Thanks all for your comments!

Laurie - I'm not sure but I would assume that the beargrass would be gone by September...? As for Piegan Pass, yes the big views really open up once you arrive at the pass.

The wide angle just invites the eyes toward the center of this comp and the peaks. Great work Jack!

Wow! I'll bet that 14 days in GNP were just too difficult to handle!

Great shot; look forward to more. :)

Jack, I saw this on G+ and I loved it then and I'm still loving it now. Fantastic photo!

Some colorful conditions captured in this real nice photo. I like how the treeline darkens nearer the edge as it helps one focus towards the center.
