 Yellowstoned
These two images were taken recently a week apart within a 1/2 mile of each other. After running around the park with my head cut off it seems this is the place to be for spectacular light at sunset. I don't know if it's the weather or what but our best sunsets have been in abundance this summer. Swan Lake Flats, Yellowstone National Park.

Swan Lake with a swan cloud overhead.

Awesome color in both shots. Number 1 is my favorite.

Great images. So many people over look this spot at sunset as their focused on wildlife. By the way not a bad spot for wildlife either.

Both are really clean, well-composed and processed images. I like the first just a tad more and completely understand the urge to run all over the park. Nice work.

That first one gets my vote as I love the crescent moon shape of that foreground pond.

Beautiful and elegant. Both compositions are excellent and the sunsets are superb. Fine work, Dean!
But...how were the mosquitoes?

John, mosquitoes were not bad at all. Surprised the heck out of me. Maybe I wasn't paying attention.

Yellowstone at its summers best. Excellent images!

I like both but also prefer the first with that nice bend in the water. Great composition. Processing looks nice too. Nice stuff, Dean.

Ha! Swan cloud. That's too cool. Both are great, I esp. like the first one.

Both images are very nice, but the first really does it for me.

The first one is a beauty!

The first one grabs my attention the most too Dean. It's an idyllic composition of a horseshoe-shaped lake combined with lovely foreground grasses, a gentle sloping hill in the background and a swath of vivid color in the sky. Everything about this image is pleasing to my eyes. Calming, elegant and beautiful.

The bend in the water that cups the hill is nice. This curve gives the image a smoothness of view. Saturation seems a little high, especially the blues in the sky, for me.

I love how you squeeze every bit of color out in your images without them being oversaturated. Just natural and impressive. And, always with a softness. Both of these are just excellent.
