Hello all,
I am a recent transplant to the state of Colorado and a newbie to landscape and nature photography. Shortly after moving here I found your site and it has been a wonderful source of information for seeing and photographing this amazing state. I work from home and find myself checking the forum nearly everyday. I thought it was time to introduce myself and thank all of you for the wealth of information you provide here and the inspiration from the many incredible photographs shared by everyone. I threw together a website last night so that I could share a couple images with you. Check it out here . Comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated. I am trying to learn as much as possible. Now that I've finally taken the first step I will be checking in and contributing as often as possible.

Welcome out of the lurk-dom, Jason! :wavey:

Nice images - looking forward to seeing more in the future.

Hope to meet you in the field, on the trail, or with frosty mug in hand someday. :toast:

Welcome to the best group of photographers you will ever find stumbling around any campfire or some local bucket of suds joint. From the looks of your Bio photo on your site, you'll fit right in with us! LOL! Oh and your photographs aint too shabby either! :toast:

Jason - welcome to CNP! You've got some really nice work on your site - strong comps. The Canyonlands shot is gorgeous. The self-portrait could use a little work, but Tecate will do that to you.

Looking forward to seeing more photos, and hopefully meeting up at some point. If you're near Denver, we've got a little gathering Tuesday the 9th at the C.B. & Potts in Broomfield.

Jason,

Welcome at CNP. Your images are quite impressive for someone who calls himself a beginner.

Your bio is interesting as well. You moved here from Atlanta (girlfriend and I moved here just a few months before you did), you're an engineer (yup I went to Ga Tech - EE), work from home (same here), gear-head (have extended purchase history at REI and B&H), like fly fishing/hiking/mountain biking/road-trips/photography/etc. (ditto, ditto, ditto, ...!), have pictures of self consuming alcohol (luckily mine are not published on web-sites!!!)

Well, your are in the right place! Look forward to seeing more of your photos.

Rene

Thanks for the welcome and kind words from all. I think it says alot about this group that I received more comments about the photo of me with beer in hand than anything else. I am anxiously awaiting the day that my photography skills match that of my beer drinking (certainly not there yet).

Rick - I actually live in the Highland Park area of NW Denver. I appreciate the invitation and would really enjoy meeting some of you at C.B. & Potts on Tuesday. I probably couldn't make it until around 6:30. How long do you guys usually hang around there? Also, I am heading out to Capital Reef next weekend. Your shots of North Cainesville Mesa with the wildflowers on your site is spectacular. I hope I am lucky enough to catch them out this year.

Rene - It sounds like we have very similar backgrounds. I went to GaTech also (ME). Hopefully we will meet up someday.

Hey Jason,

I'm sure we'll still be there at 6:30. Last time we did this, we were there until about 8:30 or 9. Most folks ordered some dinner in between rounds of beer.

Thanks for the kind words on the N. Cainville Mesa shot. That was taken last year in late March, if I recall correctly. This was a pretty dry winter so things may have gotten a later start. Here's a link to a thread over on the southwest forum discussing the flower situation in this area.

Hope to see you Tuesday!
