A dewy Scotch Argus
D7000 105mm f2.8 macro ISO 320 1/10s at f13 tripod, MLU & cable release

Taken the other morning locally just after 6.00am with quite a heavy dew on the ground. The midges came out in force as the sun came up and I ended up beating a hasty retreat not long after! All C+C warmly welcomed.

Very nice indeed Nick.Did you mark the spot the evening before or find it and do it ?
I used to mark with a twig or something in the old days. It saved a lot of time.. Can't help wishing the end of the grass was in frame. No big deal.

Many thanks Paul & Keith.
JR....I just look for them first thing in the morning as they are so numerous. They always sit down low in the grass so it is natural that you do not see the end of the grass stem when viewed closely. I have tried to persuade them onto the end of a grass stem but they seem not to like it and either sit awkwardly or drop to the ground so I just go for the natural look. I only have an hour or so on still mornings before the midges become intolerable to the point where I am actually choking on them and they also pester the subject that I am trying to photograph so i have to move quickly!

Gorgeous detail, maybe slightly smaller in the frame would be better, but that is just a personal thing.
