Dunlin
D7000 500mm f4 ISO 400 1/1250s at f10 lens resting on my knees whilst sat down.

Taken on a beach on Mull this year. There was a small party of Dunlins feeding on the tide line and this one was very obliging and let me get quite close whilst perched on a nice rock for me. All C+C warmly welcomed.

Nick.

Amazing how confiding they can be on occasions. This is a great summer plumage portrait, but I do think you can bring out a little more detail using the shadows/highlight tool.

Tis a bit dark but the light is superb.

Very nice indeed, love the warm colours on the bird. Maybe a little dark but an easy fix.

All the best

Thought I'd commented on this. Nice to see a different pose. I thik I agree with David- just a tiny bit dark.

Many thanks folks. I actually darkened the shot slightly cos I thought it looked too bright. Oh well the joys of using a lappie!

Nick

Viewing variations kick in monitor settings all beyond your control. Still a cracking image.
