Using iPad 3 for photo presentation

I bought an iPad 3 for use among other things, as a way to present my portfolio. Does anyone have any recommendations for file preparation - size and dpi to be optimum on the retina display? Thanks!

I've just bought an iPad3 for exactly the same reason. The retina display is 2048x1536 pixels, so I resize my images to 2048 on their longest side and I leave the dpi at 300. I then add canvas as needed to result in a 1536 pixel shortest side, then apply sharpening. I find the results are very impressive and brilliant for showing your work.
