I spent a pleasant hour in the company of this wild Kestrel recently. It is a bird that has eluded me for quite some time but I got my fair share of good fortune last weekend when this picture was taken.

Canon-1DX, 800mm, f5.6, 1/1600, ISO3200

Cheers

AHHA, so this is the one Austin, cool. :toast:

The hi ISO is excellent, have gone from 200-6400, no issues with little noise, still as yet to try LAN.

Morning all, thanks for your feedback.
@John, roadkill. Fortunately for me the traffic kept disturbing the bird, so it made several flights allowing me to get my eye in ( read camera settings correct ).
@Steve, I have not been brave enough to try 6400. 1600 seems to be me new "default" ISO which will be very handy as the winter months approach.

Cheers

Indeed Austin, I just wanted to see the IQ, staggering IMHO, give it a whirl, don't be like someone we know who didn't want to take it out because it was raining, sad!

Talk soon.

Cracker Austin. Was it pre focus or did the X take care of it?

Thanks again for your kind comments.

@Bob - The Auto Focus on the 1DX took care.
