Moose
Sorry for such a long absence. I haven't had such a productive summer for several reasons...one of them being the weather causing a major shortage of bird species this year. But, I was able to find some Moose last weekend.

I saw that first one over in Wildlife, and I'm glad you posted it and the others here. Man, did you take advantage of some great light! Fantastic portraits, every one! Outstanding work, Kurt. He is the most forlorn looking moose I have ever seen.

Anyone know why his eyes are so red? He looks like he's been up all night crying, or eating fermented willows.

Nice!

I watched a moose over in Animas Forks last year in the evening after a September snow storm. Amazing creatures. Looks like you had a great view of one.

Beautiful that you got these in felt Kurt. Love the side portrait of #3. Nice work!

Wow, how close were you or were you using a huge telephoto? Nice selection of images. The one item that may be corrected is the color cast. Seems to be a bit too red?

I was wondering about his eyes, too. He looks like he needs a good hug, but some very nice portraits!

No one does it better. I love the way he's framed by the foliage in #1, and #3 is a magnificent portrait!

"He looks like he needs a good hug.."
And you're just the guy to do it, Kurt.

All three of these are just tremendous. Great light and subject (and I'm sure...patience).

420.

Great shots, Kurt! Kind of a weird color cast, but great shots nonetheless.

Beautiful shots Kurt! I particularly like #3. Nice profile and, as they say, "nice rack".
