Sunflowers in the dunes, two days ago. Had to make my annual pilgrimage to see the August display (and see my new book in the VC--apparently it's "selling like hotcakes" )

Great stuff as always, Stan! My favorite is #2 in your link. That compression of meadow, ponderosas, sand and mountain slopes is an impression of the Dunes I don't think I've ever seen before.

Tough to pick a favorite, but I love the backlit sunflowers, especially #5.
So, other than the VC, where can we find your new book ?

I like #'s 5 (also in 'Landscape') and #6 because of the light angle and the 'God rays'.
The rest just aren't up to your standard, and I can say that because I've seen some superb sunflower images from you at this place in the past. I can also say that because you are now a published photographer and you've set the bar at GSD so very high indeed. Many 'Congratulations!' on your book and, like Bill, I wonder where else it is available.
Yeah, Stan, are you selling copies? At a discount?
The whole set looks excellent to me, but #3 and then #2 resonate STRONGLY with me!

Stan, it is the second image that I like most of the set with its nice visual combination of flowers, pines, sand and mountain.
As other comp options, have you considered horizontal pano crops of just the sunflower and the sand ripples for #3 (in color also) and #4?
I like the simple one flower composition of the last in the series. It also has some nice pronounced shadow detail to add a 3d look that the others don't have. Good balance overall. I do like the one on Landscape forum accept for the small green bush in the lower LHC. Nice work Stan. Is your book just local?

Best of luck with the book sales! I agree with others that the last one on your site is the standout.

I like the last one for it's light and #5 for the clouds, color and backlit sunflowers but I find the bush in the lower LHC to be distracting. Love the cover on your book! Congratulations!

The last one is the winner imo with the nice backlight. I think I'd have liked to see a more close-up take, with the flower and that funky shadow much more prominent. Just a thought.
