Here are a few choices from last weekend's trip to the north rim at Point Sublime. There was neither a glorious sunset nor sunrise, so had to concentrate on the light in the canyon and a mid afternoon rain shower.

Great series Doug, my favorite is #2 out of the bunch for it's atmosphere with the first one as a second. I think you could lose the sky there since my eyes are only drawn to the patterns in the canyon walls. Hope the light will show for the north rim meet up.
Very nice, indeed. Excellent mood in #2 and #3 with the clouds. I agree with Peter on #1. If you aren't married to that sky, crop it as the walls are the star of the show. And, it really conveys the depth of the canyon extremely well.

#2 is the standout to me... great mood with the rainy weather.

The black & white is my fav. I really like the texture in the rain that you brought out there. I wouldn't mind seeing the bottom part of #1 lightened a bit.
Yeah, 2 and 3 are awesomely intense, great Canyon images! #4 is a sweet little piece of comp and light too.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I agree that the upper, eye-grabbing, light half of the sky should go.

You made some fine lemonade here, Doug.
I like the light and the close up framing of the last two and agree that #2 is quite special. It's real nice to see more than the typical landscape type images from the Canyon, and you got several.

I agree that 2 is pretty special and I really appreciate the effort to focus on more intimate shots of the canyon.
