Heads up road alert to those in Colorado...
The world's top cyclists will be running Colorado next week, beginning in Durango-Telluride via Delores River on Monday. Then on to (Montrose), Crested Butte, Gunnison, Aspen, Breck and all the other key spots. Expect some temporary road closures and lodging/camp overcrowding. Its ends on 8/26 on a Denver urban loop.
Personally, I'm a Le Tour du France junkie, and someday will make that cross-Atlantic trek to follow the cyclists and photograph landscapes all along the route. Almost scheduled a trip to Durango this weekend - but too busy. I am hopeful we'll see a stage right up the 550 some day :)
I saw that earlier today. Great for cyclists, terrible for the rest of us. One will definitely want to visit their website to see the stages for each day before planning any photo excursions.

Even if cycling is not your cup, its an excellent way to scope the condition of the landscape. They'll be over Lizard Head Pass today.
