NOTHING around here in the way of birds to shoot during the summer doldrums, so I'm always looking desperately for possibilities.
I was driving down the freeway a few days ago, when I saw a distant pond and a big white bird on it. I had no idea where I was, but took the next exit and spent 20 min. winding around trying to find the pond.
I'm thinking "there is no way the damn thing is still going to be there."
Well, it hadn't move..a bit...

HA..... I though I was crazy when we were out on the boat in Maine and told everyone, "Hey, look at the owl on that person's dock". Needless to say it was just a plastic owl to scare away the seagulls.

Fun shot, Sandy. Sorry about the doldrums. We still have quite a few birds around here with lots of juvenile antics.
