Sunrise was a bust, but I did capture this moody shot near the visitor center...

Hi Joe, ...bummer about the lack of sunrise. I am glad to see some lupine still hanging on. Maybe another day for that iconic sunrise and flowers. I do like the fog... this has a fall 'feel'...cool dewy morning. Hope you enjoyed it. Ken S
The mountain actually did come out eventually. I had my Brother in law and his girlfriend with me, as well as my nephew. This was their first trip to the PNW. As you know, the Mountain is right on top of you at Sunrise. I was concentrating on a patch of flowers down the trail, and they were a little ways down in front of me. I knew the Mountain made it's appearance when I heard my Brother in law exclaim "Holy s**t!"

nice shot Joe - I love the foggy mood here. I was just up there this weekend with my in laws - the flowers are really good right now.

Joe, nice soft light image. I like the placement of the mid-foreground bushes in conjunction with the far trees. Were you able to capture any images of the mountain when it came out?
They weren't quite there yet when I was there last week Scott. Glad you were able to catch them at what is probably their peak. And yes, a couple Phil. Here's one.
Nice shot, Joe. Love the foggy mood. Good to know the flowers are good now; makes me feel a trip coming on! These lupine look great against the fog. As to your relative's response to the sight of the Mountain, yeah! She does tend to do that!

Your brother-in-law's exclamation made me smile. I had same reaction the first time I drove up and saw it as I was heading to Paradise. ("Holy Cow, would you look at that.")
