I passed through the Great Divide Basin on the road between the Snowys and Yellowstone. It is an area where the Great Divide splits and circles a basin. So here the rain never reaches an ocean, it enters the basin, never to leave.
These dry salt lake beds being all that remained of the rain that once fell here. I thought the salt pan with distant mountains made a great shot.
It is a harsh area of little rain and passing through it in the middle of the day seemed appropriate. However, if I was in the area around sunset, I think it has great potential.
