Moab Night Photography
Came out with a friend to Moab to get sunset and it was a bust, oh well because the night photography was not. We had a great thunderstorm in the distance with a 75% moon to light the rocks. This is a quick edit on my Macbook Air.

Nice shot! What was the exposure? At what ISO?

Nice that you caught the lightning storm and good color on balanced rock. Have you tried darkening it some to make it more "night-ish"?

Awesome shot Jason! Storm is very cool. I would prefer it being a bit darker to make the stars come out, but that's more my taste. You captured the moment well. :toast:

Fantastic! I'd also like to know the exposure and ISO. I'm planning to try some night photography this weekend with the full moon. I haven't been very successful to date, so hoping to get something I can use for a change.

Definitely agree with the others about the brightness aspect, other than that it is an awesome capture! Love it!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I agree that the image would look more night like if it was darker; I purposely left the image brighter though in thinking of how it would look as a print and what someone would want to hang on their wall.

As for the shooting info, here you go: Sony a900, 26mm f/2.8 @ 16 sec
