Hey folks, I was wondering if anyone had an ingenious way of carrying the peripherals in say a hiking bag (filters, filter holder, batteries, level, remote etc). I was using an old crown royal bag, but that disintegrated thanks to the pointy corners of the filter holder. I was looking at some little mesh bags at MEC but I wasn't confident with them just yet.

Thanks for any help.

I'll let you know.

I just picked up a waist-belt hiking bag - the Ultimate Direction Navito - from REI (currently on sale). It has several compartments inside the front zipped area and a bigger pouch behind. With the Labor Day camp, I should have a chance to see how it holds batteries, cards, and filters. Also of course it holds two 20oz beverages.

For just a few things, try a climber's chalk bag. They can cost less than $10. Also can hold a lens, or protect lenses from colliding in a bigger bag.

For filters, I just stack them (if they were all the same size... I wish!), or in a fold-out filter case.

That's not a bad idea Tom as far as the chalk bags are concerned. I have always looked at them but ignored them for one reason or another.
