Another visit to SD
Last weekend was able to do at last a long pending family trip to South Dakota, spent a day in Hot Springs , went over to the Badlands.
The first pic is on my way to South Dakota, was watching the sky for sometime, never imagined that it would be something like this. Was running around for a decent foreground when got this windmill, this is in Wyoming ..

Provided a different version in Man and Nature

Do you like this pano format or the version in M&N ? Larger version provided here ... Thanks for your C&C as always ..

# 3

Was trying to get a decent shot of the sunset when a Mama bighorn sheep came very close to me with her kids. My first shot of wildlife @40mm  . Had to shoot the ISO up a bit to get a decent handheld shot.

What a fine series, Soubhik! That sunset is just epic!! And to get a windmill in the frame? Doesn't get much better.
OK, this appears to have been taken at a slightly different time than the one in the M&N gallery. I like this one much better because the 'God rays' are more pronounced. I like the panoramic crop, but feel that it would be much stronger by cropping off the right third, just before the furthest right sun ray touches the top of the frame. That's the one I would have entered there.
I like the light in #2. The moon is so small that it almost looks like an error of sorts, and the hazy (smoky?) skies are not too pleasant. #3 is very nice. Those same skies look a lot better at sunset, and the grazing sheep really make this shot. Good light and playful interaction in #3.
Looks like you had a very productive trip!

Wow, that sunset shot is dynamic! It gives such a classic sweeping view of what eastern Wyoming is all about. Because of that sweeping effect, my preference is for the pano by a large margin over the traditional format.

The pano is really nice, and I prefer it over the M&N version. Maybe a little distortion correction is needed as the windmill appears to lean to the right.

Really nice series of images Soubhik....especially the first image. John has a couple of great suggestions. Thanks for sharing.

Nice selection. The windmill and prairie dogs are my favorites. Nice warm light on both!
